DO NOT TOUCH or HANDLE YOUR PIERCING UNLESS YOU ARE CLEANING IT.
Make sure that you wash your hands with antibacterial soap every time you clean your piercing. We suggest cleaning twice a day won’t a sensitive soap.. Be cautious not to over-do it. You can irritate your piercing with too much attention even when intentions are good. One key to healing piercings successfully is to keep it as comfortable as possible because irritation can lead to migration and/or rejection of jewelry as well as increased risk of infection & keloids.
we sell an aftercare line call Briotech. It comes in a spray forma or a gel form.
You can also use a sea salt solution after each cleaning. (Table salt is NOT what you are looking for. You need to use fine non-iodized dead sea salt). Piercing specific sprays and aftercare are available at the shop, but you can also mix your own solution using 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt and 8oz. of water. Soaking your piercing for 5-10 minutes will add trace minerals that aid in healing and ease any discomfort.
All piercings have different healing times and each person heals differently. That said, it is suggested that you clean your piercing daily for the duration of healing. This could take as long as 6-9 months depending on your piercing and general health. Taking a good multivitamin can aid in this healing process.
DO NOT use rubbing alcohol, peroxide, bacitracin, or neosporin on your new piercing.
DO NOT take out, spin, try to change your jewelry.
DO NOT remove jewelry to clean it. Most jewelry needs to stay in for 4-6 months before you can change it to something new.
Redness, swelling, mild bruising and discharge may occur with a new piercing. This is normal, but you can turn to ibuprofen and ice packs for relief and to lessen the swelling.
ORAL PIERCINGS:
We suggest cleaning with a mild mouthwash twice daily AND after eating or smoking. You should avoid straws and overly spicy food as well as small foods which may become lodged in your new piercing.
Oral piercings are more prone to swelling so the jewelry provided for an initial oral piercing is longer that the jewelry you will wear permanently. You can usually switch the jewelry in 2-4 months.
MICRODERMALS:
Microdermal jewelry should not be changed for at least a year. Gently clean the area 2-4 times a day with sea salt solution. DO NOT try to lift up your microdermal to clean underneath it. It should be kept flush with your skin. A bandaid is suggested for the first 48 hours and while sleeping for the first week.
